Thank you for your interest in fostering for Twenty Tails Rescue!

Fostering saves lives. By opening your home to a cat in need, you provide a safe, loving environment where they can heal, grow, and prepare for their forever home. Whether you're caring for a playful kitten, a nursing mama, or a senior cat who needs a quiet place to decompress, your compassion makes all the difference.

Our foster families are the heart of our rescue, and we support you every step of the way with supplies, medical care, and guidance. Ready to become a foster hero?

FOSTER APPLICATION

Frequently Asked Questions

Fostering means providing temporary care for a cat in your home until they're ready for adoption. You'll feed them, give them love and attention, monitor their health, and help them feel safe and comfortable. Foster periods can range from a few weeks to several months depending on the cat's needs.

We provide everything your foster cat needs: food, litter, supplies, medical care, and medications. We also offer 24/7 support and guidance from our experienced foster coordinators. You provide the home, love, and daily care.

It varies! Kittens may need care for 4-8 weeks until they're old enough for adoption. Adult cats might need just a few weeks, while those recovering from illness or surgery could need longer. We work with your availability and discuss expected timelines upfront.

Yes! Many foster families have resident pets. We'll help match you with a foster cat whose temperament works well with your household. Proper introductions and sometimes temporary separation are important for everyone's safety and comfort.

Absolutely! Most adult cats do fine while you're at work. Kittens under 4-6 weeks need feeding every few hours, so those placements work best for people with flexible schedules or who work from home.

Foster fails are celebrated, but never expected! If your foster cat steals your heart, you'll have first priority to adopt them. Many of our best adoption matches happen this way.

Contact us immediately, and we'll arrange veterinary care at no cost to you. We cover all medical expenses and will guide you through any care instructions.

Yes! We'll discuss your preferences, experience level, and lifestyle to find the right match. Whether you prefer kittens, adults, or cats with special needs, we'll work together to find your perfect foster fit.

We understand that sometimes situations change. If fostering isn't working for any reason, just let us know and we'll make alternative arrangements for your foster cat. No judgment, no questions asked.

Simply complete our foster application above! Once approved, we'll schedule an orientation, set up your home with supplies, and match you with your first foster cat.
